The basis for a just society

The basis for a just society

The most striking example of the manifestation of adab for every believer is the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. All believers try to act in accordance with the instructions of the Messenger of God ﷺ and be like him in everything.

It is reported from Hilal ibn Usama that Anas ibn Malik said: “The Prophet ﷺ did not have the habit of scolding people, he did not say anything indecent and did not curse anyone, and if he wanted to express censure to someone, he would say: “What is wrong with him?! May his forehead be covered with dust!” (Narrated by Al-Bukhari).

The worship of a believer is not limited to actions alone; his sincerity in worship and other actions is very important. It is in the sincerity of our actions and interactions with others that our faith is truly manifested.

The more sincere a believer is, the stronger his adab. A believer with adab looks not at the superficial manifestations of piety, but at the essence of actions. This is how adab differs from selfish sycophancy.

It is worth noting that the lack of adab in people is a problem not only in Muslim society. This is a problem for all peoples, regardless of racial, religious and cultural background.

It is known that no one, except for the prophets, is perfect. The Almighty created people capable of making mistakes, but, despite this, every believer should strive for perfection. To achieve this, a believer must constantly conduct self-analysis, seek the company of righteous people, pray to the Almighty for guidance on the straight path, and enter into the care of a spiritual mentor who will help him cleanse himself of bad qualities and achieve perfection. However, the path to perfection is not easy and is fraught with difficulties. At the same time, there is something that can make the path to the set goal easier for a believer, and first of all, this is the manifestation of adab.

In the book “Ta’lim al-Muta’allim” (“Methodology for acquiring knowledge”) it is written: “Wisdom says: “No one has achieved what he has achieved (goals) without adab, and no one has lost [the high levels achieved] without ceasing to observe adab.” It is also said: “Showing respect is better than worship (that is, performing desirable deeds).” Do you not see that a person falls into disbelief (kufr) not because of sin? In fact, he leaves the religion only because of neglect of sin, as well as disrespect for the commands of Allah ﷻ.”

It is important to remember that everything in this world happens by the will of Allah Almighty. Therefore, we must be careful when evaluating the actions of other people. We have no right to judge a specific person, on the contrary, we must focus on our actions and take care of our development.

Our mission in worldly life is to please the Almighty Creator. If a believer follows his main goal, he will be able to establish himself in adab and become one of those who create a society in which respect, kindness and moral principles prevail.

Adherence to adab by every believer is the cornerstone of society. It is extremely important that every member of this society makes efforts to implement the principles of adab in life, because the path of self-improvement of one person contributes to the development of not only his individual character, but also the collective morality of society.

Earthly life is just a test for all of us. May the Almighty protect everyone from wrong actions and bad advisers. Amin.
