The Design of Birds

Scientists confirm that the design of birds’ wings is amazing and puzzling as they are completely covered with flexible feathers that are capable of adjusting to all kinds of flying condition, as are a bird’s tail, legs, beak, and head. Every part of the body of birds is a technically miraculous in every sense of the word. What is even more amazing though is how birds manage to rise suddenly upwards from the sea and then maneuver, move, and fly for an extended time. Allah, glory be to Allah, the Almighty who says:

“Seest thou not that it is Allah Whose praises all beings in the heavens and on earth do celebrate, and the birds (of the air) with wings outspread? Each one knows its own (mode of) prayer and praise. And Allah knows well all that they do.” (Koran Sura Nur or Light 24: 41) We cannot but glorify Allah, the Exalted.

Prostration Cures Nervous Tension

When prostrating, worshippers are closest to god.

Everything in this universe prostrates to God including the sun, the moon, the stars, the trees, and even every single cell of our bodies and every atom of this vast universe.

Every time you prostrate to god, god elevates you to a higher level, spiritually and religiously, and every level equals what is between the heavens and the earth.

Prostration is a kind of exercise that releases extra burdens, activates the blood circulation, improves concentration, and trains man to be patient and calm.

Let’s contemplate those who are praised in the Holy Koran: “Those who spend the night in adoration of their Lord prostrate and standing” (Koran Surah Furqan 25: 64)

What is their reward? Allah the Exalted answers this question in the same surah of the Holy Koran:

“Those are the ones who will be rewarded with the highest place in heaven, because of their patient constancy: therein shall they be met with salutations and peace” (Koran Surah Furqan 25: 75)

Let us contemplate how Allah the Omniscient links prostration at night and patience, proof that more prostration cures tensions and makes people more patient.

Tolerance is a Treatment

Scientists have found that tolerance and forgiveness boost the immune system, help cure diseases, help lower blood pressure and protect the body from heart attacks and strokes. Today physicians advise patients who suffer from psychological disorders to practice and learn tolerance and forgiveness and help people. They have also discovered that happiness cannot be achieved though money but rather through offering help to whoever needs it. All glory to Allah; He commanded us to be tolerant and forgiving. Allah the Exalted says in the Holy Koran:

“O you who believe! Truly, among your wives and your children are (some that are) enemies to yourselves: so beware of them! But if you forgive and overlook and cover up (their faults), verily Allah is Oft-Forgiving and Most Merciful.” (Koran Surah Taghabun or Mutual Loss and Gain 64:14

Allah, therefore, commands us to be tolerant and forgiving and provides us with the suitable treatment for our psychological and social problem: for Allah wants us to attain happiness. Thus, we praise Allah for the grace of Islam.

Dialogue or Argument in the Family

Dialogue and argument are similar in meaning. Both involve an exchange of opinions on a specific topic.   However, dialogue is conducted politely, with careful listening and an exchange of knowledge, allowing each person to learn something new. An unworthy argument, however, is more like a...

The Echo of Feminism and the Voice of Faith

In our time, the loud voices of feminism echo even into the hearts of Muslim women.   This echo, rolling across the world, sounds loud and insistent, sometimes so powerful that it can knock down those who have not yet firmly established themselves on the path of truth. On social media, on...

Who Forced an Entry into the Pyramid?

What father would wish his son hard work? What father would not wish his son glory and honour? But glory and honour are impossible without daily hard work for the good of one’s people.   A father must carefully select from among his many sons the most God-fearing, the most talented in...

Let the Soul Grow

Science surprisingly confirms the wisdom revealed 1,500 years ago in the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. I was given another reason to reflect on this when reading an excerpt from a lecture by Carl Gustav Jung, the founder of analytical psychology.   The psychologist asks a question that...
