Everything you need to know about gray hair

Many of us begin to feel sad when notice the first gray hair on the head.

It seems that wrinkles will follow gray hair and that the old age is just around the corner. In fact, silver curls are not always a sign of aging. Why do some people go gray at twenty and others do not even go gray at forty? How should one care for gray curls? Let us find out the answers to these questions together.

One can turn grey at any age. As soon as our body ceases to produce melatonin, the hair loses the necessary pigment and loses its colour. The impetus for this can be a nervous shock, an ailment such as severe beriberi or may be heredity. Interestingly, there are studies proving that early gray hair promotes health. Our smart body begins to use glutathione (a substance found in the pigments that color our hair) for other purposes. Namely, it spends it on protection against cardiovascular diseases and the fight against the development of malignant tumors.

If you notice that you are turning gray too quickly, it is best to see a doctor. To slow down this process, you need to eat properly, normalise sleep patterns and give up bad habits. Also, do not use shampoos and other hair care products containing paraphenyl diamines and acetyltetramethyl tetralins.

How to care for gray hair?

Gray curls require special care, because they are drier and more brittle. Cut off split ends regularly, use moisturizing shampoos and apply masks. Black cumin oil, coconut oil, sesame oil and castor oil are great for gray hair care.

Color your hair correctly

Although permanent dyes help to colour gray hair for a long time, they harm the scalp and hair follicles. Therefore, do not overuse them. It is better to choose a gentler composition and colour more often. Hairdressers advise not to use shades which are too dark for dyeing gray hair, because after a week the roots will grow back and will stand out strongly against a dark background. Try switching to lighter shades. Instead of dark brown use dark blond, and instead of chestnut - peach.

How to love your gray hair?

Gray hair has many interesting features. Well, it grows very fast. Many women, turning gray, notice that their curls have begun to curl more. Nowadays, there are all kinds of stylish colouring options which will help a woman to turn her gray hair into a highlight.
