How to easily and environmentally clean a frying pan to remove burnt food and the specific odour left after frying fish?

While the pan is still hot, sprinkle a layer of mustard into it – it softens the dirt and lifts it from the surface. After a few minutes, add hot water from the kettle and scrub with a long-handled brush. Even stubborn burnt food will come off.

A tip from the old times: an effective and gentle laundry bleach can be made as follows. Grate laundry soap, stir a pinch of potassium permanganate into a litre jar of water, place both in a basin, pour hot water over the mixture, and stir until dissolved. Soak old white items that have turned gray from time in the solution for five to six hours. This bleach removes ingrained dirt from the fabric’s fibres, making them lighter and softer.

There is an easy way to clean a baking sheet from burnt-on food and grease. Apply two to three tablespoons of the cheapest dishwashing liquid to the surface, add two tablespoons of baking soda, two tablespoons of 9% vinegar, and pour boiling water over it. This mixture will soften dried-on food residue, making the baking sheet easy to clean. Let the mixture sit on the baking sheet for about ten minutes, then brush off any remaining dirt. Pour the water from the baking sheet down the toilet.
